Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actor, model, and entrepreneur. She is best known as Emily Fields from the Freeform TV show Pretty Little Liars. Shay Lo was the name given to an Jennifer Lopez Mitchell admirer by her friends. While a young girl, Shay Lo developed an interest in performance arts. Shay Lo even talked to her parents the possibilities of working in this field. When she was a star with modeling and dancing, she wanted to try her hand at acting and began acting classes in Toronto. Mitchell got a few commercials, and she played part-time on television programs. Her biggest break came when she was asked to play in the role of Emily Fields. Her performance was well-received by her acting and by fans. She then went on to create a name for herself on the big screen through films such as Dreamland, Mother's Day and The Possession of Hannah Grace. Her name gained more attention in the role of an actor in a thriller about psychological issues in You. Alongside acting Shay Mitchell has also ventured into writing.
