Beth Hart is a Los Angeles native and blues-singing rock star. She was a street performer before she was first noticed by Immortal in 1995. Her frank, open performance, emotional and empathetic live performances attracted the attention of many. "Hart is the perfect example of a natural woman," wrote Chuck Taylor in the October 2, 1999, issue of Billboard magazine "bawdy and funny, lively and free-spirited with her choice of spiced language. This isn't her true talent. She's a tall, graceful singer/songwriter who performs her songs with the energy and vigor of Mick Jagger . Other times , she's on the piano or on the on stage, without pretense. Her legs are crossed to the sides of a chair and she speaks in a soft, aching voice. "Drawing responses like this, from the time she took the stage for amateur competitions when she was a teen, Hart nonetheless experienced misgivings about the music business when her career finally began to take off. In the end, traveling the world over proved detrimental to her band and Hart was ostracized for over four years, a time being a soul-searcher and dealing with issues through music. In the end, eager to give her career a second chance, she resurfaced in 1999 with the critically-acclaimed Screamin' for My Supper The album was a culmination of Hart's songwriting abilities with honest, vulnerable songs about dealing with life's challenges.
